board game reflection
From the board game design I learned alot about whats it takes to make a basic game and the challenges game makers face. The rules must be simple and complex at the same time, and the gameplay has to be the same way. Some of the principles I found similar between a board game and a videogame I had to apply were stuff like rules that were easy to follow but not so easy that the game lost its fun. A difference was the concept of enemies. For the board game i didnt have to worry about how enemies would look, act, interact, ect. In a video game though these are very common challenges. I thought the best board game was the dare game because its the only game i could see myself playing outside of this class. All the other games seems a little too childish and applied to a younger age group.
