Trash Pickup

For my Game For Change i made a simple clicking game in which trash represented by multi-colored balls is rapidly created. All you have to do is click the balls as fast as you can, If more than 20 balls leave the screen though you lose. The game is never ending though because our world is constantly being littered with trash. No matter how fast we pick it up, there will always be someone dropping it back down. Due to the simplicity of the game it appeals to all age groups and hopefully can bring attention to a lot of people the harsh reality of just throwing that one piece of trash out the car window.

board game reflection

From the board game design I learned alot about whats it takes to make a basic game and the challenges game makers face. The rules must be simple and complex at the same time, and the gameplay has to be the same way. Some of the principles I found similar between a board game and a videogame I had to apply were stuff like rules that were easy to follow but not so easy that the game lost its fun. A difference was the concept of enemies. For the board game i didnt have to worry about how enemies would look, act, interact, ect. In a video game though these are very common challenges. I thought the best board game was the dare game because its the only game i could see myself playing outside of this class. All the other games seems a little too childish and applied to a younger age group.

Conquest is a strategy based game where you start on earth and have a choice between the slow path or a fast path. Each path has its benifits and the more time you spend on earth the more power you can ultimatly gain. Moving to space quickly you can conquer planets easily and multiply your power quickly. The goal of the game is to gain enough power to be able to take over your oppent.
